Meet the fresh Scoreboard

Howdy! The winds of summer bring about major changes inside the club regime. We salute Jenni Järvinen who stepped away from her secretary position at the end of May, and warmly welcome the new people that power our series of tubes.

Antti Salomaa moves to a mysterious Agent position in the board and gives the role of the club’s Vice President to Juhani Hujala, an interaction design student starting his third year of studies at TAMK. Juhani’s classmate Janne Jaakkola shall in turn bear the title of Member Coordinator and is responsible for recruiting fresh blood to the club ranks. Eevi Korhonen starts her Media Programme at TAMK this fall and is our proud new Secretary. Score’s Co-Founder and Ex-President Teemu Haila is granted yet more titles and becomes an Advisor and joins the shady Agent ranks with Antti. As for me, you will still see Juho Hartikainen entitled as the proud President of the club.

Aside from the aforementioned board members who do the paperwork and make decisions concerning the club, we also have a handful of people who are willing to help us with all that. For this reason, we now recognise a new group inside the club structure: volunteers. Basically, volunteers are assistants who are willing to take responsibilities but do not actively take part in the grand schemes of Score. There are currently four volunteers in the club: Webmaster Heikki Leppänen, Audiovisual Designer Juho Korhonen, Reporter Mikko Kähäri and Assistant Vilma Pekola.

TAF protoshop finished!

Score has just finished its first protoshop, an open game prototyping workshop at Tampere Art Factory. Protoshop attendees got their hands on Unity 3D and were given a blank platformer level for them to design. After a quick compiling, we are proud to present the levels made in the protoshop!

Overboard makes a debut at Winter ASM09!

A group of young game developers get tossed in a big game industry convention to show off their first game. Sounds destructive? TAMK and Score made this possible and the result was a priceless experience!

Overboard got it’s premiere at Winter Assembly 09. Game arrived at the opening day to TAMK’s booth maybe a little unfinished, but we were confident and let the other group of organizers play it. When the party started and booth cleared of extra organizers, some brave ones found their way to watch and eventually play our game. Over the time even more people tried our cozy beanbag chairs and enjoyed the fast paced game experience.

Tell me the rest of it!
